Well, I'm back from a fantastic trip to Newfoundland, and have finally uploaded all of my photos to flickr! Click on the photo to see the gallery.

What an incredible province, an incredible people. I found it a warming and beautiful place, full of fascinating scenery, tremendous hospitality, and excellent food! I learned many things - not least of which when a Newfoundlander says he's having 'fish' for dinner, he means 'cod'.

SO many stories to tell, so many interesting towns and villages to talk about. I'll let the pictures do my talking though. Enjoy!

The thing about weddings is...

And another thing...

Some weddings are short, others long. SOme are religious, other civic. Some are liberal, others fundamentalist. Some mean something, others nothing at all.

I like weddings. I was lucky enough to go to two of them in August, two very good friends, but the weddings had very different tones to them that highlighted the character of each of the peoples involved. Weddings offer an opportunity for others to glimpse what your values are, what you believe to be important, and speak volumes about who you are. Its your wedding, your celebration, your EVENT - and that means something, even on a subconcious level. I've learned a great deal about my two friends from their weddings. I'll bet they've learned quite a bit about themselves as well. What they find important. What they can live with, and absolutely, what they cannot!

What will my own wedding be like? Probably something flippant and breezy.
