There are many ways to counteract such occurrences, and in our Masters of Architecture program at the University of Calgary we have come up with PROJECT OUTRAGE. This is an online protest against deceitful marketing, poor construction, bad design and environmental neglect in the housing industry. By raising awareness we hope that change can be facilitated. To check us out just go to http://theslowhome.com/blog/outrage/

On an even larger note, PROJECT OUTRAGE is attached to the slow home movement. This focuses on better, healthier design intended to minimize sprawl and enhance the individuals living experience within the home in a cost effective way. You can learn more about this movement at

With more awareness and affordable, thought out solutions, the end of sprawl is in our future.
